WATCH: A lucky escape for Roman Grosjean in the Bahrain Grand Prix
Updated | By Darren, Keri and Sky
The Bahrain Grand Prix was red flagged on the opening lap at the weekend after an horrific accident for Haas driver Romain Grosjean.
Haas driver Romain Grosjean was rushed to hospital with minor burns on his hands and legs after his car erupted into flames upon collision with the Armco barrier on the exit of Turn Three at the Bahrain Grand Prix on Sunday.
The driver was racing towards the back of the field, during the first lap, when he veered from left to right to try and overtake, not realising that the AlphaTauri was alongside.
The contact swayed Grosjean into the Armco barrier with the front of his Haas crashing into the metal surface and ripping through it, with a tyre sent flying over it and into the in-field.
The accident resulted in fuel igniting into a fireball.

Gosjean, who says he is okay, thanked all those who have supported him and those who continue to send messages of support.
