It all started with "the blue shirt guy", and from there, we've seen TikTokers try to incessantly move their hips and legs to the beat of 'Assumptions' by Sam Gellaitry.

The clip has ignited engagement in all forms, remixes, duet challenges, and even AI recreations.
It was first shared online in 2022 and shows the original blue shirt guy, Ruslan Aidaev, a professional Latin dance instructor, performing the samba whisk dance. Interestingly enough, the video only became a meme in 2025 when @brianmichaelhinds_posted a remix of the original video with the track “Assumptions” by Sam Gellaitry.
He wrote, "Me dancing the Whisk back then, now u finally see me for it. Ur Brian."
