Mzansi left guessing over R17k fuel pump
A social media video showing a person filling their tank to close to R17,000 and has left people shocked and confused...
Although the fuel price may have been giving us a break recently, that doesn't mean people aren't scraping their pennies together to fuel their vehicles.
Even at R20.52 a litre, some motorists find making ends meet challenging. It's all interconnected; the food and fuel prices all work together, so we are intrigued when we see someone filling up to a value close to R17,000.
Some families survive on less than that for a month, not because they want to, but because they must.
A video shared on social media revealed how someone filled their tank to close to R17,000. The video poster, Wandile L Ngomane, asked social media users to guess what vehicle the customer was driving.

The vehicle's tank capacity of over 800 litres, which was a clear giveaway for many TikTok users who guessed correctly.

Many people pinned it down to a diesel bowser. A diesel bowser is a mobile or fixed storage unit for distributing diesel and paraffin.
In this case, the bowser was mobile.
We love it when a social media post reaches the person being recorded. The guy who was helping his friend fill his Land Cruiser and bowser commented on the post, "LOL, this was me and my friend. He was filling the van (Land Cruiser) and the diesel bowser for his plant."
One person wrote, "That's someone's whole salary gone."
Well, no one said travelling would be cheap...
