It's been a weekend full of fun and excitement in KwaZulu-Natal, with the East Coast Radio House and Garden Show and the Hollywood Bets Durban July

The hustle and bustle on the streets was electric, allowing us to see our city through rose-coloured glasses. This is always good, considering we often grapple with so much crime and devastation.

A video shared by 'wannabe vlogger' Adam Spires filled us with even more pride. The video features talented unemployed South Africans who have come up with creative ways to earn some money.

The video was inspiring, to say the least. It showed how some South Africans can push the boundaries of creativity to make ends meet.

South Africa is known for our car guards, people cracking jokes at traffic lights in exchange for cash, selling fruit and drinks at busy intersections and even roasted mielies on the sidewalk – a business that's become popular on the streets of our cities.

South Africans were happy to chime in with their positivity.

  • "Imagine if this creativity and resilience were backed by a working economy for its people. South Africa is a phenomenal nation filled with phenomenal people."
  • "We are South afri(CAN)."
  • "These guys are excellent. I saw them several times is Centurion."
  • "I have been working in usa for 4 years and there is just nothing like South Africa 🇿🇦 It’s my home/my pride dankie/kea leboha/Ngiyabonga Mzansi 🇿🇦."
  • "Love my robot dancers. And my foreign friends love them more."
