Lawyer accidentally calls judge 'honey' during court case
Updated | By Udesha Moodley-Judhoo
Oops, that was totally and unequivocally awkward, not to mention embarrassing.

Imagine calling your boss or someone in high authority 'honey'?
Forget about hiding under the table or putting your foot in your mouth. This might cause you to run away or never speak again. That may be a bit extreme, but the level of humiliation calls for extremes.
An American lawyer arguing an appeals case in Colorado turned a blushing pink when he accidentally called a judge 'honey'.
And here we thought having an AI-generated lawyer was embarrassing.
The term 'honey' is usually used as an endearing term, and perhaps this lawyer thought he was talking to his wife as he blurted out 'honey' while trying to address the judge's concerns.
What was surprising was how composed the judge and the rest of the courtroom remained after his Freudian slip. We understand that a high level of professionalism is required when entering a courtroom, but this was one for the books.

Even though the lawyer caught himself in his mistake and apologised immediately, the incident caused him to lose focus and feeling embarrassed.
One person commented on the video shared on Instagram, saying, "I actually like this. He made an honest mistake and showed respect and apologised, and she saw it for what it was, accepted his apology, and moved on. Life would be much better if people on our planet operated as well as these two people just did."
Another said, "That’s insane…flashbacks to calling your teacher 'mom' boss level."
One wrote, "Bro forgot he wasn’t arguing with his wife."
No information was provided about how the proceedings ended but we cannot imagine returning from that with a positive result.
