Laws in Singapore that may sound unusual to the rest of the world

Imagine being fined for not flushing a public toilet. Well, that's a law in Singapore.

Travelling the world has its perks, but when you visit a country with more laws than you know what to do with, you need to prepare yourself.

Most tourists want to let loose and have fun when they travel, but if you consider visiting Singapore, you can expect to realign your ability to follow the rules.

Singapore is an incredible host. You can expect to go on starry night cruises, visit the Gardens by the Bay, the Singapore Botanic Gardens, Universal Studios Singapore, the Singapore Flyer, and more.

But with every great host comes some house rules. For the Republic of Singapore, there are some non-negotiables that all travellers and locals must abide by.

Australian content creator Coleman Geiger shared an interesting video about some of the strangest laws in the country.

He started the video by sharing that in Singapore, you are not allowed to chew gum, and if you come into the country with bubble gum, you could face up to three years in jail. They take their oral health very seriously.

Another law that got him in a tailspin was public nudity. Spitting in public is also against the law and could land you in big trouble. This should be a worldwide rule because it's just unsanitary.

Another law that we undoubtedly agree with is the toilet flushing rule. If people don't flush after using a public restroom, they can be fined (we wonder how they enforce this).

Sadly, some people still don't practice proper etiquette when using public restrooms, which leaves us with a lot to imagine regarding their restroom habits.

Of course, they are known for the fresh air because people cannot smoke or vape in public.
