Silent events focus on fun without the noise pollution.

The words 'silent disco' or 'silent party' sound unnatural. But silent events have become a popular form of get-togethers. Anything can be categorised into a silent event, from weddings to birthday parties, corporate events to fitness classes.

We even saw the silent restaurant a while back that demanded complete silence.

How does it work?

The Silent Events website says, "No noise pollution so that you can have your event anywhere at anytime. The immersive aspect of listening through headphones allows guests to concentrate on the sound. We have invested in the best Silent Event equipment in South Africa and are the most experienced and professional enterprise on the continent."

Check out the post below from Instagram that shows a silent disco in Cape Town.

It sounds like the solution to all our hearing problems at functions that can get rowdy. So, we can say goodbye to people missing out on the epic best man speech or hearing what your Zumba class instructor said...

Apart from standing out from the crowd, the benefits seem plentiful. "Silent Parties are fun for everyone in the family or the company. From kids to grandparents, bosses to delivery boys. Everyone loves our silent discos and how they unite people on the same level," reads the Silent Events website.

Another significant part about silent events is that you can tailor each headphone to suit different musical tastes.

In case you were interested in attending a silent event, you can do so this September 2025 at the Neighbourhood Cafe and Bar.
