Danny Guselli relives bad car accident

"Life has a way of reminding us what matters most: health, family, and the people who show up for you." - Danny Guselli

Travelling on the roads isn't always smooth sailing. As a motorist, there are several things you must always be mindful of. Beyond driving safely for your wellbeing, it's equally important to consider the safety of other road users.
Car accidents have a harsh way of snapping you back to reality, often forcing you to see life through a different lens.
Danny Guselli was recently involved in a serious car accident.
What was meant to be a regular drive home turned into a traumatic experience, one that will likely stay with him for a long time.
Things took a turn when Danny encountered traffic on the N2 heading towards Durban. As he approached the off-ramp, he noticed the congestion ahead and instinctively began to slow down.
As he approached the vehicles in front of him, he suddenly heard a loud crash. It was then that he realised a fender bender had occurred just a few cars in front of him.

As he came to a stop, he glanced into his rearview mirror and he saw something that he won't easily forget. Two cars coming towards him, showing no signs of slowing down. In a split second he braced himself for impact, knowing there was no time to move.
I looked in my rearview mirror and it's just that horrible sick feeling that I keep playing in my mind because there's nothing I could have done. You don't know how bad it's going be, but I knew they weren't going to stop. It was a Hilux bakkie and a blue car. The Hilux bakkie hit the blue car behind me, that blue car then spun into the side of me. The bakkie then went into the back of me, veered right, and lodged between the concrete barrier and my car. I braced for impact. As I was in shock, I didn't know that it had then pushed me two to three meters ahead and made me hit the car in front of me.- Danny Guselli
Danny was fortunate to walk away from this accident with a few physical injuries and, understandably, emotional trauma.
In sharing his story, he has approached it with great sensitivity, mindful and respectful of those who have lost loved ones on the road.
His experience resonates with many drivers, serving as a sobering reminder of the importance of driving cautiously and responsibly.
One key thing he took away from this experience was concentration and keeping a safe following distance when driving.
Danny, who has his Defensive Driving and Advantage Drivers certificates, was reminded that no matter how cautious and responsible we might be behind the wheel, not everyone on the road exercises the same care and attention.
