Cooking at the gym? The things we do to beat the system

Have you ever used the facilities at your gym or a public space because you were stuck without electricity or water?

The threat of loadshedding or water cuts has left many South Africans with PTSD.

Being left in the lurch while preparing dinner or, worse, while washing your hair can be truly inconvenient. While it may throw a spanner in our daily routine, there are always solutions. Trust and believe that South Africans will always find it in themselves to make a plan

One such occasion was witnessed inside a gym bathroom.

While some are avid gym-goers, some only go to the gym when they need to charge their phones or take a warm shower, despite our national service delivery problems

However, one person took it a step further when they connected their electric cooker to the bathroom wall socket inside a gym

A passerby saw the electric frying pan and recorded the chicken dinner being cooked next to the wash basin. It was no ordinary sight, but one that got us thinking about the extent people will go to get their food cooked when they are facing a challenge.

Perhaps this person didn't have a power outage, but was stuck at work and decided to make up for lost time by cooking their supper while getting in their workout session. Regardless of its reason, we can confidently call them a winner...

Winner, winner, chicken dinner!
