#WCW: A mother giraffe shows us that a mother's love has no limit...

A sad story about a mother's loss...
There has always been a connection between animals and humans. The way mothers tend to their young, for instance, is something that both animal mamas and human mamas can relate to.
In a video that was posted this week on the Latest Sightings YouTube channel, a sad affair is witnessed by some tourists on safari.

The video shows a pack of hyenas flocking to a dead giraffe calf. It's in their nature, that's what they do, we get it. But their savageness is carnage and leaves us with a lack of understanding when it comes to their natural instincts.
The mother of the baby giraffe is seen fiercely chasing them away. But they still linger...
Her emotion is ever so present and her mourning, heart-wrenching. The sighting is said to have been filmed in the Greater Kruger National Park.

Alexandra Olivieri, a 34-year-old field guide, shared the sighting and the experience with Latest Sightings. It seems that the giraffe calf was potentially a newborn that was captured.
Who or what caught the calf isn't known, but the guide expressed that in his tenure as a field guide, he had never seen anything like this before. He was quoted by Latest Sightings as saying:
"I’ve been a guide for about 10 years now, this definitely strikes me as one of the most memorable sightings in my career.
"It was quite a shock as we weren’t expecting such a scene. The fierceness of the female giraffe was just remarkable. I think that was what was the most shocking to us - her growling and stomping to fight the hyenas off."
He went on to share that after returning to the scene the next morning, the hyenas were in fact feeding on the carcass of the calf. Eventually, a male lion came through and dominated the carcass.
Sadly, this mother tried her best to protect her baby from nature's carnivores, but to no avail. Today we wanted to celebrate her and her amazing protective instincts, as well as her fierceness.
It's clear that a mother's love is limitless and goes beyond species...
