#WCW: Meet Amahle Hadebe, the 16-year-old Durban actress with a bright future

During the best and worst of times, all it takes is believing in yourself...
Success is something that we believe to be subjective. It is only as powerful as you make it. And when you feel like you are hitting goals, and are in full stride, then it is your right to want to be celebrated.
This is why we loved hearing about this aspirational young woman from Durban. Amahle Hadebe is a 16-year-old actress from Durban who recently received an international opportunity.
One that may very well open up more doors for her future.
She recently participated in the 12th Annual International Arts Talent Showcase in front of International American Agents and industry professionals.
Her stellar performance has led to her being invited to represent South Africa at the International Modelling and Talent Association convention in New York.
The Grade 11 learner's monologue was from the film, 'Malcolm and Mari'e, which starred her favourite actress Zendaya.
She will be competing in six categories in Acting, which include categories such as Monologue, Improvisation, Cold Read, TV Real People, Screen Test, and Theatrical Headshots. (Berea Mail)
Hadebe first expressed interest in acting when she was in Grade Six.
I remember first taking an interest in acting when I would watch fellow students really doing well in class activities for drama. I watched school plays and movies, and I would almost critique their acting and even think to myself, I bet if I put more effort into my drama-class performances, I would do really well, too. That was my competitive side kicking in, and when I started to put more effort into my drama-class performances, I found it really fun to find monologues and to bring that character to life in my own way, to become that character.- Amahle Hadebe
