Thuso Mbedu, Selena Gomez, Hailey Bieber wow at Academy Museum Gala

South Africa's golden girl, Thuso Mbedu, was one of several A-list stars at the second annual Academy Museum Gala.

'The Woman King' star rubbed shoulders with celebrities such as Julia Roberts, Emma Stone, Olivia Wilde, Kerry Washington, and Mindy Kaling at the event. 

Thuso looked stunning in a Giambattista Valli Couture two-piece. The 31-year-old was styled by celebrity stylists Wayman + Micah. The duo has worked with stars such as Keke Palmer, Tessa Thompson, and Jodie Turner-Smith - who was also spotted on the red carpet. 

Thuso, who shared pictures from her big night out on Instagram, was also rocking a new hair colour. "Ma’am! You are a VISION!" actress Jessica Nkosi commented about her new blonde locks. 

Hulisane Ravele wrote: "Ma’am! You are a VISION!"

Academy Award winner Viola Davis also complimented Thuso on her amazing look. "Beautiful," she told her 'The Woman King' co-star.

Also turning heads at the gala were Selena Gomez and Hailey Bieber - and not just because of their outfits.  

Hailey made news recently after opening up about the hate she received when she rekindled her romance with Justin Bieber shortly after his relationship with Selena ended in 2018.

The pair got married soon after. Many accused Hailey and Justin of cheating. Speaking to Alex Cooper on the 'Call Her Daddy' podcast, Hailey once again denied she had an affair with the pop star. 

"I can say, period, point blank, I was never with him when he was in a relationship with anybody. That's the end of it," she said. 

Selena and Hailey were all smiles as they posed for pictures together at the Academy Museum Gala. Many applauded the women for taking the high road amid all the drama.

Meanwhile, Thuso had added another award to her mantle piece - which already includes a 2022 Spirit Award. 

She attended the 2022 Newport Beach Film Festival Honors event on Sunday where she was named one of the '10 Actors to Watch'.
