We've heard of members of a community rallying together before, but this was on a whole new level of rallying. An ex-military veteran who is formally from Philadelphia, US and now living in Florida for a year, became a viral sensation.

He heard that an alligator from a nearby pond was outside his neighbour's house and stepped up to help. Eugene Bozzi, heard about the alligator from the kids in the neighbourhood.

He immediately responded by saying that he was going to remove it because the alligator is probably hungry and that's not good for them. His initial protective instincts kicked in, coupled with his army training and he grabbed his trash bin and went in for the hunt.

Eugene said that his successful capture of the alligator could've easily turned out differently but he noticed that the alligator was backing down. He could've been attacked and been dead but he was lucky.

The alligator was safely returned to the pond, but authorities advised that if this happened in future then the community should contact the professionals to get the job done.

Nevertheless this happy ending story made Eugene a viral sensation in his neighbourhood and online, where he has been receiving many congratulatory messages.
