A 74-year-old man in Florida put his life on the line to save his pet dog that was attacked by an alligator in a pond in his back yard.
A video shows Richard Wilbanks jumping into his back yard pond to save his three-month-old Cavalier King Charles spaniel from the alligator. He pulls the alligator out, which has his dog by the jaws, and pulls it's jaws apart to release the dog.

Wilbanks told CNN that they were just out walking by the pond when the alligator came out of the water like a missile.
"I never thought an alligator could be that fast. It was so quick,” he added.
The dog had a wound on his belly, while Wilbanks told the website that his hands were “chewed up” and they both received medical attention after the incident.
