When we saw this story, we thought: only in South Africa do we have people who take the opportunity to train a wild seal and make a performance out of it.

A TikToker videoed a homeless man in Hout Bay, Cape Town who has acquired a close bond with a wild seal, who he has named 'Nicholas'.

The bond is cute and obviously beneficial for both parties, as we can see that Nicholas enjoys a snack now and then and the man has made a friend who shows him love.

The man said that it takes him around 2-3 months to train a wild seal like Nicholas, which makes us think, is this something that he does often with other sea animals?

He even said that he has been with Nicholas for 19 years, which makes us think about the life he has been leading, but still manages to smile and even find a unique way of providing entertainment to tourists and locals.

It truly shows character, not just from Nicholas but also of the man who seems to be so resourceful and patient. They say someone who can get along with animals has a good heart and we think this is certainly true of this man.
