Tourists enjoy a visit from the monkeys at their safari resort
Updated | By East Coast Radio
Ah, their reaction to the monkeys is surreal versus almost all South Africans who scream out of shock!
We think that everyone in KZN is on the same page when it comes to seeing monkeys.
Of course, there will always be that first time when we look at them with fresh eyes like a child. But after a few times, they rank in the same field as that neighbour that you prefer not to talk with.
We cannot blame the many people who have to clap their hands or raise their voices to scare the monkeys off. It's a tough situation to be in because you have to be stern or they end up invading your home.
Other than kids who get extremely excited when they see the long-tailed vervets, tourists have also been known to get excited.
An American woman and her mother who visited South Africa recently shared the moment they returned to their hotel room at a safari resort to find monkeys on their terrace.
This same American, Condiment Claire, also shared a peppermint crisp and milk snack that blew us off our feet.

Claire and her mother were pleasantly surprised to see the monkeys playing around on the terrace.
She videoed them playing around and even 'ooh'd' about the baby ones latching onto their mothers. The vervets explored the terrace fully, and even attempted to open the outdoor shower.
It all made sense to her after a while as to why the hotel staff told them to keep their doors and windows closed.
