Parents share school holiday dilemmas online
Updated | By Udesha Moodley-Judhoo
It's only the end of week one of the July school holidays, and parents are already feeling the pinch...

It's officially the end of week one of the school holiday, and parents and guardians gather online to share their frustrations.
A content creator from Umkomaas, KwaZulu-Natal, Giggzy is known for his brutally honest approach to relatable topics. This time, he hit the nail on the head with his video about the 'school holiday culture' that always hits parents and guardians right in the gut.
School holidays are synonymous with lazing around, overeating and bordome. But the kids don't understand that it can get costly for parents when all the 'holiday food' is obliterated after just a few days into a three-week holiday.
Giggzy made a video that has over 1.4 million views and talks about how he stocked up on groceries, yet there's little to nothing left. The television is running into overtime, and it's only the end of week one of the school holiday.
He was emphatic and emotional in his delivery, and we cannot say we blame him; it's a while till the next payday. School holidays should include a warning label and tips on creating a holiday emergency fund.
