This natural concoction is said to rid your home of insects

With the amount of ants moving around Durban at the moment, this is definitely worth a try.

With the inconsistent weather patterns of extreme heat and then chilly winds, we have noticed an increase in insects.

From ants to cockroaches, we can say with confidence that pests aren't welcome in any household. Unless you are an Entomologist, of course.

It is for this reason that we were elated to find a video that shared a natural insect repellent recipe.

In a video shared to TikTok, we see a recipe using all-natural ingredients to create a spray solution.

Ingredients

  • 300ml water
  • 2 tablespoons of cloves
  • 2 tablespoons of bicarbonate of soda
  • a few bay leaves

Bring the water to a boil on the stove, then add the cloves to the water. Once the water changes colour, add the bicarbonate of soda. Cool the mixture and add to a spray bottle with a few bay leaves.

The spray can be applied to doorways and all surfaces in your home.
