Mozambican journalist gives update on destruction caused by Storm Eloise

The cyclone was on most of our radars for the past week.

It was predicted that the storm would intensify as it made its way to the northeastern parts of South Africa.

It was expected that it would hit the eastern lowveld and escarpment of Limpopo and Mpumalanga - as well as northern KZN.

As we know by now, that is exactly what happened, although KZN ended up being more affected by a cold front than the major weather concerns of the tropical storm.

But KZN, Mpumalanga, and Limpopo did not come out of this completely unscathed.

The terrible weather did destroy hundreds of houses and claim two victims.

However, as the storm made landfall in Mozambique last week, its path of destruction was much more severe.

Thousands have seen their homes disappear and towns have been left in chaos.

Carol Ofori sat down with Mozambican journalist and new presenter, Jersild Chirindza, to get an update on what the situation in the country is like less than a week after the storm arrived:
