Mom's 'spray bottle' homework tactic gets her an 'A'
Updated | By Udesha Moodley-Judhoo
Sometimes, you must draw outside the lines to get the correct answers.

It might not always seem like the right thing, but many parents do what they have to do to overcome the pitfalls of homework sessions.
We get it—sitting down with your child and doing homework after a long, tiring day is not easy. But it is a part of life that there's no going around. Homework brings with it ups and downs and extreme meltdowns. Therefore, it requires a special technique.
The key isn't just to remain patient and understanding. Approaching homework from a place of fun can make a world of difference.
A Bloemfontein mother has flipped the script on how to help your child with homework. Her method of using a spray bottle with water to motivate her daughter to find the correct answers has Mzansi smiling.
Often, we find that by the time we get to homework time, our levels of patience are depleted. This leads to a lack of understanding from the parents' side, and can cause the child to close up and be unresponsive.
This mother's approach makes doing homework fun and lighthearted. It allowed her child to learn and bond with her mother.
Mom playfully sprays her daughter with water each time she gets an answer wrong. The online community celebrated her method, and her daughter responded well when doing her homework. It was an 'A' for effort.

Many people came to the comments to share their approval.
- "This is how it’s supposed to be done rather than shouting at a child and belittling them & calling them names!"
- "Oh this is the kind of mother I’m gonna be."
- "Awww making homework fun yessss mom!"
- "Saving this for when I eventually have kids."
- "We are THE next generation of parents!"
- "I love this! I’m gonna try it."
One person shared how frustrating it can be when anger peaks. The mother responded, "That anger girl, I know. Homework is so triggering for people who try to help, but I found that when my kid is in such a soft situation, she listens vs tense settings."
