When it comes to the weather, there will always be that one person in the room who is not happy about it. It's either too hot or too cold. Now if there is one thing that we can rely on when it comes to being a Durbanite, it's the consistency of the warm weather.

Some may say that's not necessarily a good thing, but we are definitely choosing to embrace the good when it comes to Durban.

On that note, a recent post on IOL shared a symbolic part of Durban. A part that was referred to as a crossroads and used to be a spot that housed a set of fountains.

An old picture from the Daily News archives that was published on the Facts About Durban website shared a flashback moment that affirmed that even back then (December, 1961), the heat was hotttttt...

"The area was something of a crossroads, with a road sign in the old picture that directs drivers to go straight ahead on their journey to Johannesburg and Pietermaritzburg, or to turn left to travel to the South Coast and Louis Botha Airport." (IOL

Not only was this a literal and symbolic space in Durban, it was something aesthetic for motorists to enjoy. Plus when we see trickles of water it does one of two things for us; it refreshes us and cools us down and inspires a visit to the loo...

In this case, we hope that it gave motorists some coolness amidst the hot days...

On that note, we thought why not ask a fairly fresh Durbanite for her opinion when it comes to the heat? So, Carol Ofori came through with her opinion. She shared the weather differences with Durban and Johannesburg and how she has transitioned.
