There are many things that we are known for as South Africans, but one of the things that make us stand out the most is our resilience.

We are known to bounce back from pretty much anything and that is what we pride ourselves on.

More than that, we are also known for our ability to take any bad circumstance and make the best of it.

One classic example of this was captured recently during the floods that were experienced in Jeffrey's Bay, Eastern Cape.

One man decided that he wasn't going to let the flooded street stop him from taking a row on his kayak.

A resident managed to witness the light-hearted moment and videoed it for our pleasure.

Just in time to celebrate our heritage...

Over the last few years, we have all been through a lot as a nation.

With that being said, it is important to remember that as a nation we are able to apply some light-heartedness to any situation.

Because, ultimately, that's what sets us apart from the rest of the world.
