Graduates dress up as ET, Teletubbies, and The Mask for graduation

What better way to show people how ready you are to enter the real world than by dressing up as Po, the red Teletubby?!

Graduation has traditionally been known as a milestone event in one's life. A step into a new chapter; one could even say a coming of age.

So, you always find graduates dressing up in their finest attire when receiving their degrees.

But one University is doing things differently and graduates are really embracing it.

A college of arts in Japan permits students to wear whatever they like for graduation.

"Things are quite different, however, at the graduation ceremonies for undergraduate and graduate students at Kanazawa College of Art in Kanazawa, the capital of Ishikawa Prefecture. Outgoing students are allowed to attend in unique costumes of their own choice." (YouTube)

Of course, the Japanese are known for their eccentric ways and the graduates really took advantage of this opportunity.

Graduates dressed in costumes of all sorts, and really went all out. From Jim Carrey's The Mask to Po from the Teletubbies, and even traditional attire, they really were decked out.

Popular funny news channel Pubity shared a video on the graduation. Host, Kamera Junior, joked that nothing quite says "I'm ready for the real world" than someone dressed as a Teletubby.

We have to say though it is quite refreshing to see a tertiary institution help students express their individuality on the day they celebrate their next chapters.
