Are friends who roast you more loyal?

Some of the strongest friendships are built on insults.

We have become a generation of digital consumers who lean toward believing everything we see or read online.
This doesn't always work in our favour though. While it may make you a star conversation starter, it doesn't always make you a reliable source and doesn't always reflect well on your reputation.
A podcast host recently shared some statistics about a research study on friends. The study said that friends who playfully insult each other are 300% more loyal and honest.
Fox 2 Now reported on the research study, saying: "The study claims, 'lighthearted jabs strengthen bonds' and create deeper trust and openness."

Some of the strongest friendships are built on playful insults. Most of the time, it's an underhanded way of just being genuine and honest with a friend or loved one.
While the research study does sound interesting, it's not clear who conducted it or how they came to these findings.
One person commented on the post, asking, "Can we normalise citing research when making claims?" Another wrote, "These studies are getting out of hand. Who’s studying this stuff?"
