KZN's number 1 hit music station celebrates 22 years in the business
Tuesday, 9 October 2018 marked 22 years of East Coast Radio being in operation, and to celebrate we hosted a party for the management and staff of this amazing brand.
Hit music, family, and loads of fun - that is what East Coast Radio stands for. We recently celebrated our 22nd birthday, and, of course, we had to do it East Coast Radio style.
East Coast Radio became an independent radio station from the SABC back in 1996. The first song on-air when we launched as an independent station was Van Halen’s 'Jump'.

For 22 years, East Coast Radio has been a household name amongst many in KZN. In addition to the hit music that we play, ECR is well known for hosting events that brings KZN together, the hottest source of local news and content, and has a reputation of rewarding listeners with competitions just for tuning in.
