Chaos erupted when the ANC Youth League diverted from their march to ABSA and headed towards North Beach where the DA-led march ended.

DA KZN leader, Zwakele Mncwango says he received reports of DA supporters wearing the party's t-shirts being attacked by ANC Youth League members in the vicinity of the beach while making their way to where their cars had been parked.

Mncwango says the league's actions are a direct violation of their constitutional right to march.

"Part of the agreement when you apply for a march is that you be peaceful. Surely, there is a breach of our Constitution if someone agreed to a peaceful march but turned to be violent. Again, this is based on leaders' statements like what Zandile said. The youth league is very well-known to be supporting Zandile," he said.

The DA's chief whip in Parliament says South Africans can no longer bear silent witness to the looting and corruption taking place in the country.

John Steenhuisen has been addressing thousands people who took part in the 'People's March' in Durban - demanding that President Jacob Zuma step down from office.

"The president fights under the cover of darkness. Who operates under the night, unless he has something to hide? He's fired two finance ministers. We will not be stopped by the ANC caucus in Parliament. The Motion of No Confidence must go through every single member of Parliament and [we'll] tell them - if they do not remove that man, we will remove them," he said.
