Funeral selfies on the rise
Updated | By Sihle Mthembu

Our generation is in love with social media, with most of us having dozens of profiles on different networks.
We are the selfie-stick-carrying, lip-pouting, find that perfect selfie angle generation.
I am a huge fan of the selfie and well, I think I have perfected the art of taking the selfie.
Most of my selfies happen just as I leave the house in the morning and my face beat is just right and hair is freshly styled.
Some people take them as they drive and some take them while on the loo (think back to Khanyi Mbau circa 2012) but a new survey has revealed that a third of mourners take selfies at funerals and they do so in order to gain more sympathy from their followers.
17% of the people surveyed, said they took funeral selfies to honour the deceased.
Do you take funeral selfies? Where do you think taking selfies is inappropriate?
So much fleek for such a sad occasion. RIP cousin Esther #funeralselfie #fresh
