Abi learns Sign Language

Imagine how lonely it must be for no one to understand what you are trying to say? Here's why Abi Ray has started to learn Sign Language.

I was recently invited to be an ambassador for the Talk Sign campaign, which aims to popularise Sign Language and raise money to help educate and find employment for people who are deaf.
I think it's a wonderful campaign because if more people in the hearing community learn the basics of sign language, the more the people who are deaf can be included into this community.
We're not asking people to go all out and learn everything; that will just overwhelm a person! We're asking folks to learn the basics, as you would if you were travelling to a another country.
We recorded this clip about the campaign, which has also been flighting on tv.
To order your stickers in support of this campaign, contact Ellisha on 031 309 4991 or email [email protected]. And visit www.talksign.co.za if you'd like to read a bit more about it.
Get involved, Talk Sign day is on Friday!
