Those of you who often visit our Sportswave page will know that I am a keen fisherman. I am often too busy to fish, but grab the chance whenever it presents itself.
My last success was earlier this year when I managed to boat a 9kg Natal snoek.
I release most of the fish I catch, but kept the snoek for the pan.
It is important to carefully handle any fish you plan to release.
Remove as little of the slime as possible when handling a fish.
This can be done by wetting your hands before putting them on the fish. Also try to avoid sticking fingers into the gills of the fish.
