VIDEO: Grouper fishing feast

I landed the rockcod off Shelly Beach and it weighed around 3kg.

Rockcod are excellent for eating and I have caught many here in KZN.

I was recently told of good rockcod fishing in Durban harbour and it is a spot where I too enjoyed rockcod success many moons ago.

I also remember the legends of large brindle bass in the harbour and recall one angler who specialised in catching these huge fish on crab.

These days it is illegal to keep a brindle bass as it is a threatened species.

The grouper caught in parts of the USA remind me both or brindle bass and rockcod.

Today we see Captain Blair Wiggins targeting grouper on what looks like fairly light tackle.
