The province’s main KZN pre-season tournament will be hosted at the Umhlathuze Central Sports Complex on the 1st and 2nd August.

The tournament will include PSL clubs Maritzburg United and Golden Arrows as well as NFD teams Amazulu, Royal Eagles and Thanda Royal Zulu.

It will serve as a good preparation ahead of the new season and the MTN 8 competition. On Saturday there will be an elimination match between two NFD sides Royals Eagles and Amabhubesi.

This is due to the nature of the tournament that it should only consist of four teams. The next two clubs drawn will play the first semi-final on Sunday.

This will be followed by the second semi-final between the remaining fourth team and the winner of the elimination match.

The tournament is the brain child of the KZN Department of Sport and Recreation.

Following the draw, fixtures will be as follows:

Elimination Match on Saturday:

Royal Eagles vs Thanda Royal Zulu 1st at 12h00pm

1st Semi-Final on Sunday:

Golden Arrows vs Maritzburg United at 9h00am

The 2nd Semi-Final:

AmaZulu will face off against the winner of the elimination clash scheduled to start at 11am.

The finals will be played at 2h30pm respectively.

Entry to the Stadium is free however tickets should be obtained before matchday from the Umhlathuze Municipal Offices and local Spar stores.
