Zweli Mkhize: Enjoy the festive season responsibly
Updated | By Nothando Mkhize
The Health Minister is asking us to enjoy the festive season responsibly.

Zweli Mkhize's made the plea while visiting the Eastern Cape's Sarah Baartman District today.
The district is one of the identified Covid-19 hotspots in that province.
The Eastern Cape still remains with the highest number of covid19 deaths, including the highest number of active cases- sitting at almost 8000.
Mkhize says provinces around the coastal areas are a cause for concern.

"This is where the movement tends to be. There is already an indication that KZN of numbers increasing.
We have discussed this with the province. We will be discussing with Gauteng as well because their numbers are also picking up.
So we need to be proactive within the scope of not restraining people's normal enjoyment in festivities but at the same time, our message is, enjoy it responsibly.
You can not enjoy yourselves in a reckless manner which will result in more people getting infected and others losing their lives.
