Zuma's corruption trial set to begin

Former president, Jacob Zuma is expected to make a brief appearance at the Pietermaritzburg High court on Tuesday.
It's in relation to a multi-billion rand arms deal with French company Thales which Zuma was at the center of in the 90s, where he allegedly received numerous bribes in exchange for protection of the business from investigation.
A warrant of arrest was issued in February when Zuma failed to appear in court which was previously stayed till 6 May. It was further extended due to the lockdown.

Zuma will be represented by a new lawyer, Eric Mabuza, who says tomorrow will give them an opportunity to discuss how and when to move forward.
