Zuma, Thales corruption case heads back to PMB court
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
The corruption and fraud case against former president Jacob Zuma and French Arms Company, Thales will head back to the Pietermaritzburg High Court this morning.

Zuma is facing charges linked to payments he allegedly received in connection with the arms deal.
In the last case, the court heard that the matter would be postponed, possibly for the trial date to be set down today.
State Prosecutor, Billy Downer told the court that they were ready to proceed with the matter but stated that the Coronavirus pandemic had really hampered parts of their proceedings.
Downer said that the defence had also requested documentation from the state that they were in the process of making available.
Zuma's representative, Muzi Sikhakhane at the time told the court that the state should just make it known that they want the case postponed to 2021 and proposed that the matter be struck off the roll.

At the time, the judge told Sikhakhane that they would not be possible as Downer had already told the court that they were ready to proceed with the case
Thales legal representative, Barry Roux told the court that they would be bringing an application to appeal the racketeering charges they are facing.
