"This Commission - from my understanding - was really created to have me come in here and perhaps to find things on me."

Zuma is currently testifying before the Zondo Commission of Inquiry into State Capture.

He says there's been a drive to remove him from the scene.

"A wish that I should disappear rises out of my work in the ANC, and because of who I am. This conspiracy against me has been stretched at all material times when there are things to be done or said," he said.

Earlier, Advocate Muzi Sikhakhane representing Zuma, told Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo that the commission hasn't been fair to the former president.

He says they needed questions ahead of time because they wanted to prepare.

"I've brought him here to you with reservations about how he has been called and reservations about the unfairness that may happen to people he may mention. I'm going to hand him over to the Commission because he is your guest and hope that he will be protected from himself. May those who he mentions be treated fairly because they don't know he is about to out them."
