Zuma supporters threaten war over corruption case
Updated | By Nushera Soodyal
Supporters of Jacob Zuma made their way to the Pietermaritzburg High Court on Monday morning where the former president is due to appear later.
Siyabonga Hlathi travelled from Gauteng.
"If they Zuma is being found in the arms deal cases, they must show us the evidence. Therefore today, we are expecting that President Zuma must be given the presidential pardon or else it is going to be war."
Zuma's legal team is set to apply for leave to appeal the court's October dismissal of his special plea in his corruption case.
Judge Piet Koen ordered the trial against the former president and French arms company Thales to go ahead in April.
He also dismissed Zuma's application to have state prosecutor Billy Downer recused from the case.

Zuma argued that Downer cannot be impartial, and accused him of leaking confidential information to journalists, among other claims, which the prosecutor denied.
Meanwhile outside court, supporters have been bussed in from around the country.
"This case must be closed because there is nothing against him. We have been coming here for several times but there is no solution out of this thing,” said Neo Sekgona, who is from Soweto.
“Charges are that being charged with there are not there, just what the NPA captured."
Several roads near the court have been closed to traffic.
