Zuma says legal team well prepared for corruption trial
Updated | By Nothando Mkhize
Former president Jacob Zuma claims his legal team was well prepared to have a full day in court on Monday to expose what he says are unlawful dealings within the arms deal corruption case.

Zuma and French arms company, Thales' corruption trial has started in the Pietermaritzburg High Court.
The case was adjourned to next week Wednesday for a plea to be formally entered – and to allow a special plea application to be filed by Zuma's lawyers.
It could see lead prosecutor Advocate Billy Downer recusal from the matter.

Addressing his supporters outside the court, Zuma said it hadn't been a fair case for him.
"The trial has now started. No one can accuse us of not being ready to proceed.
"My lawyers presented before the court that we will show that in this case, which has taken so long, a lot of unlawful things have been done by investigators and prosecutors."
