The African National Congress in KZN says it views former president Jacob Zuma's latest political move as a departure from the ruling party.
The organisation held a media briefing, alongside the Mass Democratic Movement, in Durban on Monday.
Zuma announced at the weekend that he won’t be voting for the ANC in next year’s elections, adding it would be a betrayal to campaign as the party is currently being led by President Cyril Ramaphosa.

"As leader of the ANC especially former president have in the past voiced their concerns about witnesses in the African National Congress - there have been concerns about the quality of the membership it is the first time in 111 years a former president announces publicly he his decision to vote for another party, which we view as divorcing the ANC."
