Zuma arms deal trial back in court on Tuesday
Updated | By Nokukhanya N Mntambo
The decade-long corruption trial involving former president Jacob Zuma remains marred by uncertainty.
Last month, Zuma's arms deal corruption trial hit a snag when Judge Piet Koen halted proceedings pending a fresh appeal to have state prosecutor Billy Downer recused from the case.
This after Zuma launched an application before the Supreme Court of Appeal in a bid to have the court reconsider an earlier judgment on Downer's recusal.
The holding trial date was set down for Tuesday but it's unclear if the matter will go ahead.
Spokesperson for the National Prosecuting Authority Mthunzi Mhaga says he's also in the dark.

"We are not sure what will happen given the fact that the SCA has not yet pronounced on the matter," says Mhaga.
The 80-year-old former head of state is accused of taking bribes from French defence giant Thales.
He faces 16 counts of fraud, graft, and racketeering over the purchase of fighter jets, patrol boats and equipment from five European arms firms.
