Zuma appoints new SABC board

President Jacob Zuma has appointed new members to the SABC's board.
The appointments were made in terms of the South African Broadcasting Act and on the recommendation of the National Assembly.
The Presidency's Bongani Ngqulunga says the new members have been appointed for a period of five years, with immediate effect.

"The President has also designated Mr Bongumusa Makhathini as chairperson and Ms Febe Potgieter-Gqubule as deputy chairperson of the SABC," he said.

The following people will serve on the SABC board:
Mr Bongumusa Makhathini (chairperson)
Ms Febe Potgieter-Gqubule (deputy chairperson)
Ms Rachel Kalidass
Ms Khanyisile Kweyama
Mr Michael Markovitz
Mr John Matisonn
Mr Dinkwanyane Mohuba
Mr Krish Naidoo
Mr Jack Phalane
Mr Victor Rambau
Mr Mathatha Tsedu
Ngqulunga says President Zuma has wished all members of the board the best during their tenure at the public broadcaster.
