Dlodlo explains delays in appointing new SABC board

Parliament says it's satisfied with the Communications Minister's explanation over why a new, permanent board for the SABC - hasn't been appointed yet.

The interim board's term came to an end last week. President Jacob Zuma's yet to give the candidates proposed by Parliament - his approval.
The Portfolio Committee on Communications says Minister Ayanda Dlodlo inquired with the Office of the President about the delay.

The committee says according to Dlodlo's report, the President requested her ministry to provide more information about her qualifications and security checks of the recommended candidates.
She says this process should be concluded within the next two days. The committee says they agree this is an important part of the process.
