Zondo reserves judgment in Moyane bid to cross-examine Gordhan

Advocate Dali Mpofu has argued that it would only be fair to
grant former South African Revenue Services commissioner Tom Moyane his
application to cross-examine Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan.
The commission of inquiry into state capture heard representations from Mpofu, who is representing Moyane, as well as Gordhan's legal counsel in Parktown on Wednesday.

This is Moyane's second bid to cross examine Gordhan, after his initial
application was dismissed by the commission’s chair, Deputy Chief Justice
Raymond Zondo, in April.
Zondo refused to grant the application after Moyane had failed to meet the requirements.
"I said this the last time, we accept unreservedly that there is no right to cross-examine Gordhan, but what we did not accept is that there is no right to cross-examine as there is a right to fairness. And that right does not even belong to you chair, but the Constitution," Mpofu told the commission on Wednesday.
