A large crowd of protesters and Muthwa’s family members gathered outside the Umbumbulu Magistrate’s Court on Monday morning waiting for the case to start.

Shortly after filing into the courtroom, they, along with reporters, were asked to clear the room and wait outside, with court officials promising to call them when Khumalo was about to appear.

However, moments later, court officials emerged and informed Muthwa’s father, Martin, that the man accused of killing his daughter had already appeared and that his bail application had been moved to later in the week as there was only one magistrate available.

Muthwa’s brother, Bongani says they want the case moved because they feel there’s interference.

The IFP's, Thokozile Gumede concurs: " We are just worried whether there is a hidden agenda which they are doing. We just don't know what the reason for not calling the family is".

The matter will be back in court on Thursday.
