Zikalala: Vaccines will be shared among private and public health sectors

KZN Premier, Sihle Zikalala says the province received around 10 800 doses of the 80 000 Johnson and Johnson COVID-19 vaccines that arrived in the country this week.
The province officially kicked off its vaccine rollout at Prince Mshiyeni Hospital in Durban this morning.
There was jubilation as healthcare worker, Doctor Nerika Maharaj received the first COVID-19 jab in KZN.
She later told reporters that she had been anxious, but that it was a quick and easy process.
Outside the vaccination facility, Premier Zikalala told a press briefing while he hoped for more vaccines, the current batch would be shared between the public and private sector.

"Inkosi Chief Albert Luthuli Hospital will be receiving about 5760 vaccines and Prince Mshiyeni Hospital will receive 5040."
He says healthcare workers who deal with patients and administrative staff will be prioritised during this drive.
