Cop killed while attending Chatsworth domestic dispute

A police officer and another man has been killed in a shooting in Chatsworth, south of Durban.

Two officers responded to a domestic dispute in Welbedacht East after a woman reported it at the Chatsworth Police Station.
Police spokesperson, Thembeka Mbele says when they arrived at the woman’s home. "A man began firing at the officers through the window, hitting one of them above his bulletproof vest."

"The suspect ran out of the house when he began firing at police. Police retaliated fatally shooting the suspect," said Mbele.
"The officer passed away at the crime scene. A firearm belonging to the deceased(suspect) was found at the scene."
