Updated | By Lauren Beukes
KwaZulu-Natal Premier Sihle Zikalala says it's a growing concern that many people continue to head out into public spaces without masks.

Positive cases continue to rise in the province, with over 101 000 confirmed infections.
The eThekwini region remains the epicentre in the province with more than 46 000 cases.

Speaking during a virtual media briefing on Wednesday, Zikalala reminded the public that not wearing a mask remains a criminal offence in terms of the current lockdown regulations.
"We have noticed, worryingly, that people are now lowering their guards and we would wile to warn against going so as we enter the phase of increasing numbers of infection in our province. Every part of the province is now hotspot for this pandemic," he says.
