Zandile Gumede set to appear in court for Durban tender case

Scores of former eThekwini Mayor, Zandile Gumede Supporters have descended on the Durban Magistrates Court where she and he co-accused will make their first appearance for the year
Gumede is facing charges relating to a multi million Rand Durban Solid Waste Tender dating back to 2016.
Supporters of Gumede arrived outside the court last night with most staying over awaiting her arrival.
There was a night vigil where everyone gathered and prayed for Gumede leading up to her appearance today.

In Gumede's last appearance she argued that she wanted her bail condition relaxed so she can carry out her mayoral duties but she has since been axed from this position by the ANC in KZN.

Gumede was arrested last year and granted R50,000 bail. At the time of her arrest, Hawks say that service providers were allegedly paid some R208 million but apparently services were not rendered to the municipality.
