The corruption trial of former eThekwini Mayor
Zandile Gumede and 21 others will resume in the Durban High Court on
Monday.
They collectively face over 2 700 fraud and corruption-related charges in relation to a multi-million rand Durban Solid Waste tender.
This first sitting of the trial in March ended due to several administrative delays.
The matter was also postponed after the lawyer representing former city manager Sipho Nzuza introduced new documents into court records.
They hope to use the documents to cross-examine officials from the eThekwini City Integrity and Investigations Unit.
The unit's officers are part of witnesses that will take the stand in the trial.

The state is alleging that Gumede and other municipal officials used her office to capture councillors, the supply chain management, as well as financial components of the city.
It leads them to circumvent the outcomes of the tender processes in favour of certain businesses.
