Worker hurt after falling 9m at construction site

A worker has been seriously hurt after falling about 9m to
the ground while working at a construction site in the Drummond area, west of
Durban.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 4pm this afternoon.

Netcare911’s Shawn Herbst says the man fell from a height of about 9m after his ladder allegedly gave way.
Herbst says the worker was stabilised at the scene by Advanced Life Support paramedics.
He was then airlifted to hospital by helicopter.

The exact circumstances leading to the fall are unclear at this stage.
