Worker arrested after attacking Northern Cape farmer

Police in the Northern Cape have arrested a farm worker who allegedly shot and killed his employer following an argument.

Another man was also shot and hurt as the suspect fled in the farmer's bakkie.
Police spokesperson, Mohale Ramatseba says the incident occurred outside Griekwastad yesterday. He says the farmer sustained a gunshot wound to the chest.
"After the [attack], the suspect sped off with the victim's bakkie. The suspect overturned the bakkie and tried to run on foot. The police managed to arrest him and confiscated the rifle," he says.

The shooting occurred a day after a country-wide protest against farm murders.
